The health care industry is increasingly transnational, with patients across the world seeking advanced care options in the US and other destinations. This growing international demand presents health care providers with new patients, new partnerships, and exciting opportunities. Yet it can also expose them to corrupt foreign officials, requests for illegal bribes, and other business practices violating US law. From working with third-party patient aggregators in China, to collaborating with the national health services in Europe and Latin America, the pharmaceutical industry, medical device companies, laboratories, health IT companies, hospitals, and physicians need better strategies to comply with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other laws governing US entities operating overseas. With these requirements in mind, this program will provide crucial insights into the FCPA and its foreign equivalents, as well as practical guidance on pursuing a foreign health care partnership while managing legal and reputational risks.
