Taking Care of Business

As many products are now sold globally, counterfeit or infringing products can spread around the world very quickly and violate your company’s IP rights. Similarly, competitors can use courts around the world to attack your position. It is no longer efficient to address this problem country by country. Creating a globally coordinated strategy that uses the best aspects of the legal process in each country, is the best way to effectively approach global litigation. Understanding the differences in law, practice, and procedure in major jurisdictions will allow you to develop enforcement strategies that secure strong returns on investments, and help your business to achieve its goals. This session will address these issues and include insights on preliminary injunctions (and how to defend against them), arbitration options, and the different courts that can be used in major jurisdictions.
